From the parador standing above all, it’s hard to miss the flattened work that is Jesus’s church in progress – in progress for 760 years.
Like a rhino without its horn, the cathedral stands with no spires, no statues, no pinnacles to cover the bare buttresses. Is it a church if it doesn’t look like a church?
As mother always used to say, it’s what’s inside that counts.
